‘ডুয়ার্স উৎসব’কে চ্যালেঞ্জ ‘ডুয়ার্স ডে’র; ২ জানুয়ারি ২০১১; সকালবেলা পত্রিকায় প্রকাশিত একদিকে সপ্তম ডুয়ার্স উৎসব, অন্যদিকে ‘ডুয়ার্স ডে’। জোর টক্কর লেগেছে এই দুই ডুয়ার্সমুখী অনুষ্ঠান নিয়ে। আগামী ১৪ জানুয়ারি আলিপুরদুয়ারের প্যারেড গ্রাউন্ডে, সরকারি অর্থানুকূল্যে শুরু হতে চলেছে সপ্তম ডুয়ার্স উৎসব। অপরদিকে, ডুয়ার্স উৎসব পাল্টা চ্যালেঞ্জ জানিয়ে বিভিন্ন বেসরকারি প্রতিষ্ঠান, সংস্থার উদ্যোগে একইদিনে পালিত হতে চলেছে ‘ডুয়ার্স ডে’। ডুয়ার্সের বানারহাট, কালচিনি, বীরপাড়া, জয়গাঁ, হ্যামিল্টনগঞ্জ, রাজাভাতখাওয়া, বক্সাফোর্ট কুমারগ্রাম, ফালাকাটা, আলিপুরদুয়ারসহ ১১টি ব্লকের প্রায় ১৬০ কিলোমিটার বিস্তীর্ণ এলাকায় আগামী ১৪ জানুয়ারি গুণীজন সংবর্ধনা, রাখীবন্ধন, মন্দির-মসজিদ-গির্জা-গুরুদ্বারে প্রদীপ প্রজ্জ্বলনের মধ্যদিয়ে পালিত হবে ডুর্য়াস ডে। বিভিন্ন রাজনৈতিক ডামাডোল অশান্ত ডুয়ার্স বর্তমানে এই দুটি একমুখী উৎসবের প্রতিক্রিয়াতে উত্তেজনাপূর্ণ। ডুয়ার্স উৎসব চালু হয়েছিল ২০০৪ সালে। মূলত, ডুয়ার্সের জনজাতি সংস্কৃতি, পর্যটন ও ভৌগোলিক বৈচ...

শান্তির লক্ষ্যে জানুয়ারিতে ডুয়ার্স ডে পালনের ডাক; ১৯ নভেম্বর ২০১০; উত্তরবঙ্গ সংবাদ পত্রিকায় প্রকাশিত ধূপগুড়ি ও কালচিনি ১৮ নভেম্বরঃ আগামী ১৪ জানুয়ারি ডুয়ার্স-ডে পালনের লক্ষ্যে সমস্ত রাজনৈতিক দল একত্রে উদ্যোগী হয়ে সভার আয়োজন করল। বৃহস্পতিবার বানারহাটের একটি বেসরকারি স্কুলে এই সভা হয়। শ্রমিক সংগঠনের নেতা চিত্ত দে-র সভাপতিত্বে এদিন ডুয়ার্স-ডে উদযাপন কমিটি গঠিত হয়। কমিটির সম্পাদক মনোনীত হন ডাঃ পার্থপ্রতিম। বাঙালি, আদিবাসী, নেপালি, বিহারি ইত্যাদি জনজাতির মধ্যে সম্প্রীতি স্থাপনের লক্ষ্যে এই কমিটি কাজ করবে বলে জানান ডাঃ পার্থপ্রতিম। তার মতে ডুয়ার্স ডে পালনের মধ্যে দিয়ে আবার শান্তি ফিরিয়ে আনা যাবে ডুয়ার্সে। এদিনের সভায় হাজির ছিলেন কে পি পি, আদিবাসী বিকাশ পরিষদ, ডি এম আই, গোর্খা জনমুক্তি মোর্চা, ডুয়ার্স নাগরিক মঞ্চ সহ বিভিন্ন সংগঠনের প্রতিনিধিরা। এছাড়াও কংগ্রেস ও তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসের নেতৃত্বে উপস্থিত ছিলেন। সকলেই শান্তির পক্ষে রায় দিয়েছেন। আদিবাসী বিকাশ পরিষদের চা শ্রমিক নেতা বিধান সরকার বলেন, উৎসব পালনের মধ্যে দিয়ে সর্...

Dooars day observed in Jalpaiguri; Saturday 15 January 2011; The Statesman Statesman news service; Jalpaiguri, 14Jan: Amidst deepening chaos and confusion, the Dooars Day (in sns photo) was observed today with the residents of the picturesque land appealing for enduring peace and ethnic harmony. The GJMM withdrew its dragging bandh in the Dooars for today, keeping in view the observance of the day. A series of cultural activities were held on the occasion at Chamurchi, Banarhat, Binnaguri, Nagrakata, Kalchini, Kalapani and several places spread over the Dooars. The locals remained busy since the morning to make the celebration a success. The students took the lead in the cultural programmes. The Adivasis performed their traditional dances, Candles were lit atop each house to proclaim solidarity amongst the people irrespective of ethnic differences . The superintendent of Jalpaiguri police, Mr Anand Kumar Flagged off the celebration at Binnaguri yesterday. The people belonging to several ethnic communities residing in the Dooars for generations took part in the observance with enthusiasm. Dr. Partha Pratim, the general secretary of the Dooars Day Committee, said that the observance of the Dooars Day was a milestone in cementing ethnic differences being hyped by several organisations. ``The programme would herald peace in the region. People across the ethnic spectrum have taken oath to maintain amity in these volatile times when efforts are afoot to drive wedge among the communities living here together for years on end. Even several political parties regarded as archenemies have joined hands make the celebration a grand occasion, ‘’ he said.
